Gerard Piqué and Jordi Alba have a contract with Barcelona until June 2024

The revolution started at Camp Nou this summer. The club brought several reinforcements with a view to the future, as the entity understands that it needs to undergo a reformulation.

The changes have not ended, in fact, they have just begun. Some key pieces of the club in recent years may come out soon. The newspaper 'Sport' claims that the next ones to pack could be Jordi Alba and Gerard Piqué.

Alba and Piqué's contracts expire in June 2024. However, Barça are considering terminating their relationship as early as January, a year and a half ahead of schedule.

These terminations would be a strategy for Barca to get rid of two of the biggest salaries in the squad. If Alba fulfills his contract, the club will have to pay him 65 million. In Piqué's case, the number would rise to 80.

Barça know that convincing them will not be easy. Perhaps, a little simpler is the case of Piqué, who has already said he would step aside if the club asks. In the case of the side, the club would try to use the January market and the interest it arouses in some clubs to convince him that this is the best way.

The board will try to accelerate these two departures during the World Cup. They know it will be complicated, but they are also aware that no other way out would be as beneficial to their coffers as these.
